Campings in Andorra: Complete Guide to Sleeping Outdoors

The two official campings in Andorra, the Vall d'Incles campsite, and everything you need to know to sleep outdoors in the Principality.

Andorra is not the most obvious destination for camping, but it has more options than it might seem — and some with a value for money that is hard to find in similar tourist destinations nearby. There are two official campings with full facilities, a campsite area in one of the most beautiful valleys in the country, and some peculiarities worth knowing before you arrive.

Camping Valira, Andorra la Vella

Camping Valira is the only urban camping in Andorra and probably the most singular in the Pyrenees for that reason. It is located in Andorra la Vella, 15 minutes on foot from the main shopping strip, next to the communal stadium and the bus station. You can leave your tent pitched, go shopping in the centre, and walk back.

It has been open since 1969, managed by the Cardona family from the start. It has 135 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, equipped bungalows, a year-round heated pool with jacuzzi, a supermarket, barbecue areas and a children’s playground.

2026 high season prices: adult €8.55/night, tent with car €19.10, motorhome €19.10. Electricity from an additional €4. The Andorran tourist tax is €1.57 per person per night for the first 7 nights, not included in the prices.

For anyone visiting Andorra to combine mountain with shopping or a trip to Caldea, the Valira’s location has no rival. You park once and move around on foot for your entire stay.

Camping Xixerella, La Massana

Xixerella is located between the villages of Erts and Pal, in the parish of La Massana, on the road up to the Pal Arinsal ski resort. It is the most complete camping in Andorra in terms of facilities: 33 tent pitches, 33 caravan pitches, 14 wooden bungalows, a heated outdoor pool, a children’s playground, a supermarket and its own restaurant called La Torrada, serving traditional Andorran cuisine.

Pets are welcome. It is about 6 km from the centre of Andorra la Vella and 3 km from the Arinsal ski station. The location has more nature than the Valira but requires a car to get down to the centre.

Campsite Area Font de Ferrosins, Vall d’Incles

This is the option for those looking for real mountain. Font de Ferrosins is in the Incles valley, in the parish of Canillo, at 1,840 metres altitude. It is a campsite area managed by the Comú de Canillo with basic services: 25 tent pitches, 5 caravan pitches, showers, washbasins, drinking water, a sink area and a bar. Pets are welcome.

The Incles valley is one of the most beautiful in Andorra — a glacial U-shaped valley with high-mountain meadows, traditional stone barns scattered across the hillsides, and the Incles river running through it. From here, routes lead to Lake Juclar, the largest in Andorra, with a staffed refuge in summer where you can eat and sleep.

Two practical things worth knowing: in summer the access road to the valley has a barrier and is closed to general traffic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from late June until September — only those heading to the campsite can pass. And the Andorran police enforce the rule that you cannot spend the night outside the designated area; this is not a place where you can park your van anywhere in the valley and stay overnight.

The area is open approximately from late June to early September. Outside the season there is no service.

Wild Camping in Andorra

Wild camping is not permitted in Andorra, except in the form of high-mountain bivouacking, which allows one night with a small tent in remote mountain areas. For more than one night, special permission from the relevant Comú is required.

Which One to Choose?

If you are visiting Andorra to shop, visit Caldea or explore the centre, and you want to save on accommodation without giving up comfort, Camping Valira is the option. Its location in the capital is unique.

If you are looking for a camping with more nature and complete facilities for a family, Xixerella is the best option by a clear margin.

If what you want is mountains, silence and to walk straight out the door, Font de Ferrosins in Vall d’Incles is where you need to be. It is the least-known option and the one that delivers most for that profile.
