Best Value Hotels in Andorra: 3 and 4-Star Options

The best 3 and 4-star hotels in Andorra for travellers who want a comfortable stay without paying 200€ a night. Verified options in the centre with spa access.

Andorra is not a cheap destination for accommodation. If you’re looking for a hotel here during peak season, winter weekends or Easter, finding something decent for under €90 a night in the centre is difficult. That’s the reality, and it’s worth knowing before you plan your trip.

That said, Andorra is no Geneva or Saint-Moritz either. The €90–160 range has solid options: well-located 4-star hotels with spa and pool included, right in the main shopping area. You don’t need to spend €200 or more to sleep well and have access to what the country offers.

This article covers the most recommended 3 and 4-star hotels in central Andorra — the range that makes the most sense for most travellers who aren’t looking for the luxury of the Hermitage but don’t want a no-frills guesthouse either.

What to Expect in This Price Range

Andorra’s 3 and 4-star hotels in the centre share some common characteristics worth knowing:

Most include or provide access to a spa, indoor pool and sauna — sometimes within the hotel itself, sometimes sharing facilities with a neighbouring property. At this level, a spa is almost standard, not a luxury. Breakfast buffet is usually charged separately, around €14–16 per person, though some packages include it. Parking is always paid, around €20–26 per night, with limited spaces — if you’re driving, confirm availability when you book.

Rooms in older hotels can feel a little dated, especially bathrooms. It’s not a serious problem, but don’t assume a recent renovation in every case.

NH Andorra la Vella — The Best All-Round Option in This Range

The NH Andorra la Vella is, of all the mid-range hotels in the centre, the one offering the most balanced combination of location, room quality, and service. Four stars on Avenida Doctor Mitjavila, in the heart of Andorra la Vella, with 66 fully refurbished rooms, wooden floors, and most with balconies overlooking the city, mountains or river.

One clarification worth making: this hotel was previously called Hesperia Andorra la Vella, and some booking sites still list it under that name. The current Hesperia Andorra is a different hotel — the former Fénix — located in Escaldes. Two separate properties with a history of crossed names that’s worth knowing when you search.

What sets it apart from others in this range is the level of renovation and the detail in the superior rooms: the sixth-floor rooms have their own terrace and a Nespresso machine, and staff reviews are consistently good across all platforms. It has no spa of its own, but the location on the main avenue more than compensates for anyone combining shopping, dining and day trips.

Approximate price: €110–160 per night depending on season, with better rates on weekdays and in spring or autumn.

Hesperia Andorra — Great Rooftop in Escaldes

The Hesperia Andorra, located in Escaldes 150 metres from Caldea, is the former Hotel Fénix rebranded. Four stars with a rooftop pool, sauna and its own restaurant. In summer the terrace has a good atmosphere — with occasional food trucks — and is one of its strongest selling points.

The location on the Escaldes commercial strip is solid: close to everything, easy to use as a base without a car. Prices range from €90 to €170 depending on season, placing it in the mid-market.

One thing to note: some rooms show their age, particularly the older ones. If room condition matters to you, ask for a higher floor or Executive category when booking.

Novotel Andorra and Mercure Andorra — Two Hotels, One Experience

The Novotel and the Mercure are two separate hotels that in practice function almost as one. They’re in the centre of Andorra la Vella, separated by a private pedestrian street, and share wellness facilities: the spa, indoor pool, gym, rooftop padel courts and children’s play area are in the Mercure building, but guests of both hotels have access.

One detail that doesn’t appear on Booking: the Mercure has a bar on one of its floors where you can have a drink and smoke until 1 a.m. — unusual for this type of hotel and appreciated after a long afternoon.

Both belong to Prestigi Hotels, the local hotel chain that also manages the Andorra Palace. They’re the most obvious choice for families in this price range: quadruple rooms available, children up to 16 stay and have breakfast free, and a generous buffet that takes the hassle out of mealtimes.

The Novotel has a slightly more couples- and business-oriented profile. The Mercure is more family-friendly. If you’re travelling with children, the Mercure makes more sense because the leisure facilities are directly in its building.

Approximate price: from around €80–90 in low season, closer to €130–150 on winter weekends or public holidays. The Mercure usually comes out slightly cheaper than the Novotel for the same dates.

Roc Blanc Hotel & Spa — Escaldes’ Classic

The Roc Blanc is one of the country’s longest-established hotels. Four stars on Plaça Coprinceps in Escaldes-Engordany, a short walk from Caldea and the main commercial strip. It has been a reference point in central Andorra for decades.

Its strongest feature is the in-house spa — one of the most complete in the centre, with an indoor pool, hydro circuit and treatment rooms. For someone combining shopping with a relaxation day, the location and facilities are a natural fit.

There’s no first-hand experience as a guest, only in its event spaces. It’s a hotel with many years behind it, and that tends to show in the rooms — particularly bathrooms and furniture — something recent reviews confirm in some cases. The heritage is real and the location remains excellent, but if room condition is important to you, it’s worth checking recent photos before booking.

Approximate price: from around €70–120, varying with season.

Les Closes — Well-Located Three Stars in Escaldes

For those looking to step down a price level without leaving the centre, Les Closes is worth considering. Three stars in Escaldes-Engordany, 500 metres from Caldea, with recently renovated rooms and a value-for-money proposition that works well for shopping trips or short breaks.

No in-house spa or extensive facilities, but if what you need is a comfortable base in the centre without paying 4-star prices, it delivers. Particularly recommended in mid-season or on weekdays, when 4-star prices rise and Les Closes holds more reasonable rates.

Hotel & Aparthotel Cosmos — Better for Longer Stays

The Cosmos is different from the rest of this list: a 3-star in Escaldes that also operates as an aparthotel, with units equipped with a kitchen. That makes it an interesting option for multi-day stays, families wanting more independence, or longer-term visitors.

The location is good — less than a kilometre from Avinguda Carlemany and about 300 metres from Caldea. It has an outdoor pool available in summer and its own bar. Not at the service level of the 4-star hotels in the centre, but the flexibility of having your own kitchen makes a real difference in a longer stay, both for comfort and budget.

Andorra Palace — The Most Affordable Prestigi Option

The Andorra Palace is the third hotel in the Prestigi Hotels group, alongside the Novotel and Mercure. Three stars in Andorra la Vella, well located and with access to the group’s shared facilities: guests can use the spa and pool at the Mercure.

It’s the most budget-friendly option of the Prestigi trio without giving up the facilities. For someone who wants to be central with spa and pool access but is watching the budget closely, the Andorra Palace makes more sense than the Novotel or Mercure.

What About the Mountain?

If your trip is primarily about skiing, the mid-range options near the slopes are more limited than in the centre. In the Grandvalira area there are 3 and 4-star options in Soldeu and El Tarter, but value for money in peak ski season tends to be less favourable than in the centre. If you don’t mind driving 30–40 minutes to the slopes from Andorra la Vella each day, staying in the centre and going up daily usually works out cheaper and gives you more options for dinner and evenings.

The exception would be if you’re travelling with young children or a lot of ski equipment, where being ski-in/ski-out changes the equation considerably.

When Each Option Makes Most Sense

In ski season and at Easter, prices across this list rise significantly and availability tightens. For those dates, booking six to eight weeks ahead is sensible.

In summer and autumn, especially on weekdays, is when this range offers the best value. The NH or Mercure for under €100 a night on a Wednesday in October is perfectly achievable, and the experience is no different from what they offer in high season at twice the price.

If you’re only there for a winter weekend on a tight budget, the Andorra Palace or Les Closes make the most sense. If you want something more comfortable and price isn’t the only factor, the NH justifies the premium.
